What the Budget Advisory Committee Does

The Committee helps shape the District’s financial planning by:

Reviewing the Proposed Budget → Examines the District’s draft budget, evaluates major changes, and identifies areas that may need clarification or adjustment.

Providing Community Insight → Ensures the District’s financial decisions reflect community priorities and align with long-term service and operational needs.

Recommending Budget Adoption → Recommends the finalized budget to the Board of Directors for consideration, as required by Oregon’s Local Budget Law.

Membership & Representation

The Budget Advisory Committee consists of seven community members and current members of the Cherriots Board of Directors.

Community members:

  • Serve three-year terms
  • Must be registered voters
  • Must live within the Salem-Keizer Urban Growth Boundary

Get Involved

There are currently no openings on the Committee. However, community members who are interested in serving are encouraged to submit an application. When vacancies occur, the District will review applications on file.
